About

Genomic selection is a methodological approach in quantitative genetics and breeding that predicts the genetic merit of individuals using genome-wide molecular markers and statistical models trained on a reference population. This technique enables selection decisions based on predicted genetic values (Genomic Estimated Breeding Values), significantly accelerating the rate of genetic improvement for complex traits by reducing generation intervals and improving prediction accuracy.
